Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about what being a coach for neurodivergent creatives, writers and storytellers means, and what to expect when you work with me 🤓

I spent 15 years working as a story producer in TV, supporting writers to tell stories in the most authentic way.
Now I do for neurodivergent creatives what I used to do for projects and scripts:
I help them use the power of narrative and creativity to change their story, and to stop seeing their busy brain and big feelings as something that’s in their way, but as a portal back to themselves.

A lot of therapy (psychodynamic) is about understanding and processing how your past impacts your present.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy does focus on the present, but it’s mainly dealing with shifting negative thoughts and behavioural patterns.
Coaching is about using the present to build the future you want. It’s about self-actualisation.
Of course past patterns and familiar emotions will show up, but the focus will be on figuring out how you’d like to shift them and what you need to do this so they stop getting in the way of your goals, rather than working out why they’re here in the first place.
My ultimate goal is your well-being. If it becomes clear that you might need more specialised or extensive support than I can offer, especially mental health wise, we will discuss this together and I will help you find you the right person. I may not be the best person to help and that is okay.

I’m AuDHD myself, and I am a Certified ADHD coach - which means I’ve received training to support ADHD creatives - however, I’m not specifically an ADHD coach.
I work predominantly with neurodivergent creatives, including ADHD-ers, but my focus isn’t specifically the ADHD experience - more supporting neurospicy peeps to shift their narratives, unlock their creativity, and work with their brain.

Absolutely not!
… whether you’re autistic, ADHD, AuDhd, whether you self-identify, got the elusive official diagnosis, you’re late-diagnosed, or you don’t know what the heck is up with your busy brain half the time…. you are welcome to join any of my workshops, courses, and coaching.

I’ll write about this shortly!

The desire to make a change is the first step. But being committed to putting in the work is equally as important.
The sessions will do so much to start the transformation of your internal and external landscape, AND you still have to put in most of the work with each incremental shift that will eventually add up to big changes.
Keep showing up for yourself. That’s where the magic really is.

This will depend on a variety of things including the person I’m working with, their needs, and where they’re at on their journey. But generally we would talk about where you are, where you want to get to, why it’s important, and how we can get you there.
This involves figuring out what the obstacles are, how we can work through them, and what might help, whether it’s discussion or tools, or a mix of both.
-
In short: no.
Only YOU know what’s best for you. I will be there to help you find your own answers - and I promise, they’re already inside you.
We just have to create the space and safety for you to connect to them.
